Hii! We’re V & T and we’re so happy to have you here. There’s just so much to share with you! Now that we’re here together, we can finally tell you about how it all started, about what bodypaint truly is and what it stands for.
Let us break it all down for you.
How it started.
Having met in college and being inseparable ever since, we always knew that if we worked on something together, it would be quite something. During our long search for a name that resonated equally with the both of us, something magical happened when 'bodypaint' came up in conversation. The connection was so immediate that we just knew it was the perfect fit. The concept behind bodypaint is that the body is the canvas, and the clothing is the artwork that adorns it. Bodypaint is all about redefining clothing as wearable art, with each piece thoughtfully designed to celebrate creativity and exclusivity.
The logo.
The logo is an amalgamation of both our handwritings to form a signature, to showcase the unity between us both as creators and very much like how an artist signs a finished painting at the end.
Collection 1.
We worked with denim for our first collection, which initially presented quite a challenge, but we were thrilled with the results. Denim is a versatile material that can be experimented with a lot, so we pushed its boundaries, exploring various wash techniques and dyes. We also played with the fabric's dual-colored surfaces, utilizing both the front and back to create unique designs. Additionally, we incorporated the selvedge—the narrow, tightly woven band at the fabric's edges, typically never used—as a key design element. Finally, we embraced the natural fraying that occurs when denim is washed, adding an edge to our designs. The collection includes a full range of clothing pieces, accessories, and a one-of-one series featuring unique designs made from leftover samples and re-used fabric cuttings, all crafted from denim.
Created only once.
We like to challenge ourselves as designers, so in order to explore our creativity, we only plan on releasing limited edition collections, that ensure that once a design is sold out, it’s very unlikely that it will ever be recreated. Each collection is crafted with a very limited number of garments per design, as we want to focus solely on slow fashion. We also look forward on expanding our sizing options from next collection onwards, so stay tuned for that. Make sure to grab your favourite design before it’s gone for good!
Reversibility.
A few designs in our collection feature a reversible concept, showcasing a unique duality of colours and design elements on both sides. This means that no matter which way you wear it, you’ll always be making a statement. The reversibility element not only provides you with the option to wear the garment either way, but it fulfils the possibility of the garment being used to its maximum potential. Bodypaint’s signature design style will always continue to explore and incorporate reversibility in each collection.

One-of-a-kind.
We create designs that are exclusively our own, ensuring that each piece is original and not inspired by others. Our focus is on innovation and experimentation, incorporating unique elements that only enhance and elevate each and every design.
Taking full advantage.
We've exhausted the fabric by using it to it's full potential. From the selvedge of various coloured denim fabrics to the countless hours spent piecing cut-out fabric pieces together, we’ve created designs that not only showcase the uniqueness of re-used fabric but also ensure each piece is truly one of a kind. We believe in making the most out of everything, so we did just that and to us, it’s a fulfilment like no other.
Reimagined pieces.
Our 'reimagined pieces' collection stars pieces that are only one in number and only created in a specific size (mentioned on the product page). These pieces represent our most experimental work, crafted exclusively from rejected sample fabrics, leftover scraps from pattern cutting, and selvedge strips left behind during denim production. All the remnants of the collection that were left without a home have now found a belonging on a uniquely crafted design that can and will never be re-created by us again.
Making a statement.
We not only hope to boost your confidence when you're wearing our designs, but also make heads turn when you walk into a room. Go all out, style it in a way that makes it yours and please do send us a picture!
Our first.
This collection will always hold a special place in our hearts, as it has accompanied us through both our highest highs and lowest lows. Crafted with immense love and hope, we dreamt of the day it would come to life. It marks our first project working together as partners, making it the most valued one. After all, there’s something undeniably special about firsts, isn’t there?
